Cage Rage Camaro Team Add Lockrow For Sebring Doubleheader

Post Race Recap - Kansas

TRACK: Kansas Speedway

RACE: ARCA Menards Series - Reese’s 150

DATE: October 23rd, 2021

Started: 21st

Finished: 21st (OUT – Mechanical)

Kyle Lockrow made his ARCA Menards Series debut in the Reese’s 150 Season Finale event at Kansas Speedway. Kyle drove a fifth entry for Fast Track Racing in the #66 Ford starting the race in the 21stposition. This was the first event for Kyle on an Intermediate speedway.

On-Track activity began for the #66 Team around 11am on Saturday morning which allowed Kyle the opportunity to get acclimated with the 1.5-Mile Kansas oval. The Group Qualifying session quickly followed and Kyle was able to lock down the 21st place starting position during his first of two scheduled laps. Regrettably, as the #66 Ford was negotiating turns three and four, a sudden pop within the ignition system cut Kyle’s lap attempt short. The Fast Track Racing team quickly examined the car and deemed the initial failure was not terminal allowing Kyle to make the start of the race.

Due to pending weather around the Kansas City area, ARCA Officials bumped the start of the Reese’s 150 up by 20 minutes and the field took the green just minutes after 6pm Central time. Kyle quickly settled into a rhythm and began methodically picking off spots. Coming off turn four on the 12th lap, Kyle experienced another pop in the ignition and quickly flipped over to the backup to continue in the event. As the race reached quarter distance, the Fast Track team noticed a different pitch in the sound of the engine and that Kyle’s lap times had significantly fallen off. On Lap 28, the team made the final call to bring the car back to the ARCA Garage and determined that the car could not continue ultimately ending his debut early resulting in a disappointing 21st place finish.

Quote from Kyle:

“I cannot thank the entire Fast Track Racing team enough for their efforts and making this weekend such a memorable experience for my ARCA debut. Andy has a first-class operation and has taught me so much in such a short period of time. The main goal for the evening was accomplished by keeping the car out of trouble and rolling it back onto the truck with no damage. Unfortunately, a mechanical issue with the engine cut our night short, but we will be back even stronger in 2022.”

Lockrow Driving for Fast Track Racing at Charlotte ARCA Test

California, MD (May 5th, 2021) –  Maryland native Kyle Lockrow has agreed to drive for Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Racing ARCA team at the upcoming Charlotte test in early May.  Hillenburg will have his four-car operation at the speedway in preparation for the Memorial Day Weekend event, as well as other Intermediate tracks for the remainder of the 2021 schedule.

“Charlotte is the hub for Stock Car Racing and having the ability to secure seat time on an Intermediate track will definitely be beneficial as the season progresses.  Andy’s ARCA operation has been the proving ground for many drivers to learn and grow before taking the next step up into the higher tier NASCAR divisions.  The goals for me are simple: turn consistent laps and learn how the cars handle in various conditions,” said Lockrow.

PRE-RACE PREVIEW

“ROAD AMERICA – NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP”

TRACK: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI)

RACE: National Championship (8 Hours SAT & 7 Hours SUN)

DATES: Saturday, April 17 & Sunday, April 18, 2021

RESULTS:

Race #1: (Start: 15th Finish: 27th)

Race #2: (Start: 11th Finish: 27th)

QUOTES:

Kyle Lockrow: “This was quite a weekend on track for our team and an emotional roller coaster off track.  We had a strong driver lineup and Violette was ready for her swan song, but mechanical demons plagued us throughout the weekend.  Friday’s Test Session provided the opportunity to become familiar with the car’s handling characteristics, but Saturday’s race conditions really helped me learn what I needed to negotiate traffic and gain speed for Sunday.  I want to again thank the entire team for their determination and dedication to make the best of the unpredictability.”

Tyler Pedersen: "We really enjoyed having Kyle join us for our Road America race.  We had to call a last minute audible to move Kyle from the TURNin Motorsports car to the Crank Yankers Racing car, since the TIMG's car motor did not want to cooperate.  Kyle was on pace with the rest of the team through practice and the racing on Saturday and Sunday.  Kyle had an awesome opening stint on Sunday and if it wasn't for a right front flat, would have worked us up to the top 10.  Overall, the weekend was successful, and Kyle was helpful in being a great driver along with helping in reviewing the data with the rest of the team.  We look forward to having Kyle back on our team for WGI."

HIGHLIGHTS:

· Prior to mechanical issues, the Crank Yankers team was running in the Top-12 overall in the running order during both events.

· Lockrow posted his best lap during the opening stint of Sunday’s event at 2:50.70 seconds.

· Multiple on-track incidents during Saturday’s event prevented the team from advancing further through the field.

· After a lengthy repair on Sunday, the team was able to return to competition and bring Violette to the checkered flag.

Lockrow Returns to Competition at Daytona; Will Drive for Matt Connolly Motorsports

Abingdon, VA (June 30, 2020) – The Champ Car Endurance Series made a successful return to competition earlier this month at Circuit of the Americas in Texas and is poised to put on another thrilling show on their biggest stage. The annual stop at Daytona International Speedway, usually held in early April, has now been scheduled for Sunday July 5th as part of IMSA’s Independence Day Weekend celebration.

Kyle Lockrow will be competing in “The Daytona Beach Independence Day 14-Hour” event for Matt Connolly Motorsports in their BMW entry. This will be Lockrow’s third Champ Car event at Daytona and first of the 2020 season.

“I want to first thank Matt Connolly and the entire Matt Connolly Motorsports team for allowing me the opportunity to participate in another Daytona event. This track has provided many special moments in my career and personal life thus far, so I look forward to adding to that collection. My main goals for the weekend are simple; learn as much as I can from the team’s experience and focus on ensuring the car stays in contention for a podium finish,” said the 30-year old.

Mid-Season Update; Scheduled for On-Track Return at Charlotte ROVAL in August

Abingdon, VA (June 10, 2020) – The Motorsports world has been turned upside down with the recent COVID-19 Pandemic as events on the 2020 Calendar have either been postponed or cancelled. Thankfully, what seemed to be a season ending situation turned out to be a temporary hiatus.

Maryland native Kyle Lockrow has been hard at work rearranging his 2020 season plans after the immediate closure of the nation forced businesses to make tough decisions and race teams to halt work on preparations for upcoming events.

“As the COVID-19 situation took precedence due to health and safety concerns, organizations we were planning to partner with for Toledo had to make difficult decisions. While unfortunate, I fully supported their decisions as ensuring worker’s compensation and the operational stability for their business is not something that needed to increase in risk due to spending funds elsewhere. These same sentiments rang true with the members of Tony Cosentino Racing as I did not want to see my teammates’ health at risk when we can live to race another day,” said Lockrow.

While Toledo has now been rescheduled, lack of funding and timing to properly prepare has forced the team to withdraw their effort. On a positive note, Kyle has re-focused his efforts on running select events for the remainder of the 2020 campaign.

“Currently, we have one confirmed event, I will return to the seat of a BMW for the RACEBAR organization the weekend of August 14th-16th at the Charlotte ROVAL. The success we had at VIR in March has me optimistic for similar results come mid-August. Regarding additional events, we are exploring our options between NASCAR, ARCA, and other Road Racing organizations as state re-openings and funding will be determining factors,” said the 30-year old.
