The Villages, FL – The month of August has arrived in the state of Virginia which is always the indicator of two guaranteed factors; the weather will be muggy and ChampCar’s finest will once again take to VIR’s 3.27 full-course layout to battle it out for their annual 24-Hour event.
Maryland native Kyle Lockrow will be competing in his fourth 24-Hour Classic and second for the Brew Krewe Racing team, but this year will be part of the five-driver lineup in the flagship #86 BMW C Class entry. The car known as “Lager” has proven to be successful for the team at VIR, but this weekend both the car and drivers will be put to the test as the forecast has extreme heat with no end in sight.
“August at VIR is always a fun time because this 24-Hour event is truly ChampCar’s test of man and machine built into one challenge. This track produces a lot of phenomenal racing, but can be very slick and fickle when the temperatures rise because grip becomes a premium that no one can find. Our goal at Brew Krewe is simple for this weekend, keep the car on track and take care of it over 24 hours because the real racing doesn’t even start until Sunday morning. I want to thank Arjun and everyone at BKR for having me back for another go round!”
Kyle’s fourth attempt at “The Lifeline Classic 24-Hour” Event this weekend will be possible thanks to Home Services Restoration, LLC. (Greg & Cathy Reynolds), Mid-Atlantic Source 1 (Jim Dore), Alpinestars, MPI – Max Papis Innovations, Hydration Powered by Path Water, Victory Junction, TMI Racing Products (Don Frady), Start Imagining (Stephen & Alex Hussak), UUC Motorwerks (Arjun Soundararajan), & NLA Parts (Samuel Getachew). Tune in beginning at 12pm on Saturday, August 12th to follow the #86 car’s progress throughout the 24-Hour event.

The Villages, FL – While the weather is rapidly cooling off in the state of Virginia, the action will be heating up for ChampCar competitors in the third and final trip to VIRginia International Raceway in 2022. Driver Kyle Lockrow will be making his final two starts of the 2022 season on VIR’s North Course configuration, but with a slight plot twist to keep the weekend interesting.
Kyle will be joining the Average Joe’s Racing team in their #121 Mazda Miata as part of the driver lineup for owner & ChampCar veteran Justin Garvin. In addition to his driving duties for Average Joe’s, Lockrow will be returning to the seat of owner Andy Webb’s RaceBar #513 BMW entry for the first time since his victory with the team back at the Carolina Motorsports Park event in late February.
“VIR has become such a special venue for me as I have competed at the facility multiple times and is considered my “home track” on the ChampCar schedule. This will be the first time in six years that I have competed on the North Course configuration, so it will be crucial to take advantage of the Friday practice to get reacclimated to the layout. The ultimate test will be making sure that I keep myself mentally prepared for the transition from one vehicle to another throughout the duration of the weekend to help both teams contend for podium finishes,” said Kyle.
Lockrow will welcome new partner NNSCRA Paint Designs (https://nnscrapaintdesigns.weebly.com/) owned by eRacing veteran Seth Cole along with returning partners: Powered by PATH, Southern Sun Grafix, Moore’s Automotive Sales, NLA Parts, LLC., Airbox Air Purifiers, TMI Racing Products, NW Audio, Team Antman, The Joie of Seating, & Big Red Custom Diecast
Champ Car will be Broadcasting all 15 hours of competition LIVE on the Official Champ Car YouTube Channel, along with Race Hero & Race Monitor providing Timing & Scoring through their website and mobile application (Available on Android and Apple Products).

The Villages, FL – The month of August to many families is the sign that summer is slowing coming to an end, but for ChampCar teams like Brew Krewe Racing, it signals the annual trip to VIRginia International Raceway for the “Twice Around the Clock” event on the 3.27-mile FULL COURSE layout. BKR will once again have strong driver lineups for both of their entries, but one of their drivers will be competing in his second 24-Hour event in less than a month.
Kyle Lockrow is returning to the seat of BKR’s #75 BMW entry after a successful fourth place finish during last month’s “Longest Day of Nelson Ledges” 24-Hour Event with the Banana Splits team. This will be Kyle’s third attempt at “The Lifeline Classic 24-Hour” and his 2nd trip to VIR this year as he competed in the 12-Hour Event back in March on the SOUTH COUSE layout.
“I want to thank Samuel, Arjun, & the entire BKR team for the prep work prior to this event. We all know the challenge of running one car for a 24-Hour, but adding an additional entry doubles your fuel, tire, and spare parts allotment which is very expensive. I am also thankful to the UNOH Students who primarily assist with my ARCA Menards Series Program for coming back to help crew for both the #75 and #86 entries. VIR requires an extreme amount of concentration due to the lack of lighting during the overnight hours, executing proper passing to stay out of trouble, solid pit stops, no penalties by either drivers or crew, and “Lady Luck” to be on your side as much as possible,” said Kyle.
Kyle’s attempt at “The Lifeline Classic 24-Hour” Event this weekend will be Powered by PATH (www.drinkpathwater.com) and Airbox Air Purifying Systems (www.airboxairpurifier.com). Moore’s Automotive Sales, Southern Sun Grafix, NLA Parts, LLC., & UUC Motorwerks will once again return as partners. The Villages, FL – The ChampCar Endurance Series has added a new twist to their already grueling 2022 racing campaign. The annual “Lifeline 24 Hours of VIR” is just over a month away, but teams will getting an unusual “warm-up” as ChampCar officials have decided to utilize a popular Ohio venue for a second 24 Hour Event.
Kyle Lockrow will be rejoining the Banana Splits Team for the “Longest Day of Nelson Ledges 24 Hour” Race in their #170 BMW as a member of the five-driver lineup. This will be the team’s first event of the 2022 season and Kyle’s first trip to the Two-Mile long Nelson Ledges Race Course in Garrettsville, Ohio.
“John and Scott have a well-oiled operation, which was evident at the Mid-Ohio ChampCar Event last September. That was one of the most fun race weekends I have been a part of in a long time and really felt like I was able to shine in their cars. Unfortunately, we fought some mechanical issues throughout the weekend, but were able to salvage Top-15 finishes both days. Although I have never been to Nelson Ledges, I have been studying footage to prepare and my teammates have given raving reviews of the course. With the driver lineup we have scheduled and the amount of preparation by John and Scott, I feel we have a great shot at ending up on the podium come Sunday Morning,” said Kyle.
Kyle is scheduled to lead off in the #170 Kyle Lockrow Racing Experience presented by PlayLive Nation of Strongsville, Ohio BMW when the race goes green at 10am EST Saturday Morning.

The Villages, FL – The ChampCar Endurance Series crosses back across the country and returns to the Sand Hills of South Carolina for their annual visit to Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw. With temperatures estimated to be north of 90 degrees for this weekend’s doubleheader, the competition is guaranteed to be just as heated on the track.
Kyle Lockrow will be returning to the seat of the #75 Brew Krewe Racing BMW for owner Samuel Getachew. Lockrow scored his first career Road Course win back in February at CMP and is looking for much of the same success after the team’s 12th place finish in Daytona back in April.
“CMP is a very unique track because it is very technical, yet has some high speed brake zones that will catch you off guard if you are not familiar with the facility. My first event at CMP in August of 2021 was extremely hot, so I feel that I have an advantage going into the weekend’s races since I already know what to expect. The team has continued to show extensive growth and I believe we have a strong driver lineup for CMP that will surprise our competitors right from the green flag,” said Kyle.
This weekend’s event is an 8+7 (8 hours SAT & 7 hours SUN) beginning at 8:30am each day, but will have a mandatory break on Sunday from 11am-12pm to respect the QUIET HOUR observed for Sunday Church Services. Pre-Race Updates can be found via Kyle’s Social Media channels (Scan QR Code Below).

I am thankful for the support from our newest partner, Moore’s Automotive Sales, who will be on board with us for the 14 Hour event. The Brew Krewe team made some upgrades to the #75 car prior to the event at NCM and had an awesome weekend, so hoping we can carry that momentum down the Beach. The Villages, FL – The new year has dawned, and teams are anxiously awaiting the start of the 2023 racing season in Northern Ohio. While most tracks have begun the process of revealing their event schedules, Norton, Ohio’s Barberton Speedway sits silent while local racing for the upcoming season remains in question.
Current ownership stake of the speedway is undecided on the future of Barberton, but the Stray Dog Racing team out of Akron, Ohio is leading the charge to help save their 2023 racing season till they can return home to Barberton. SDR Team Leadership members, Tari Impellizzeri, Jason Deal, & Jerry Ward have organized a team fundraising event at their Café Headquarters in Akron on January 21, 2023. SDR Leadership have pulled out all the stops by bringing in extra help for the big day, leading to a 24-Hour “Internet Telethon”.
“We are truly excited and grateful to everyone who has become involved with this benefit. Stray Dog Racing is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds, so having the ability to let our “dogs” roam free and race this season is essential. Barberton is our home, and we hope to return soon,” said Tari Impellizzeri.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck & ARCA Menards Series driver Kyle Lockrow has joined in the festivities for the event at the Stray Dog HQ’s venue to help save SDR’s race season. In conjunction with the Stray Dog event, Kyle agreed to drive in the iRacing Rolex 24-Hour event once again at Daytona International Speedway for Kip Mitchell’s Generic Team Name organization for a second consecutive year during that same weekend to help raise the necessary funds for SDR to compete at surrounding speedways.
There will be a variety of ways fellow racers, enthusiasts, and dedicated race fans can contribute to the cause. Details for the event can be found on SDR’s Facebook page and tickets can be purchased at the event link site. Information regarding Kyle’s stint times and streaming availability to follow in the coming weeks.
